The Ortho Care is one of our firmer mattresses but is rare in that it has a quilted, smooth surface. Most firmer feel mattresses have a tufted finish, which binds the fillings in place.The Open Coil springs used in this mattress boast a 12.5 gauge wire, which is firmer than the wires used in most springs. An Open Coil spring unit is made from one continuous wire, which creates a mesh of springs. As body weight is applied, the weight is spread out over the mattress instantly. Open Coil springs are the oldest and most commonly used springs in the World, so you can be sure that they efficient and durable.Dura Beds has added layers of fibre fillings to the surface of this mattress. The fillings are breathable and layered, allowing air to flow freely through the mattress, keeping it cool and comfortable at all times. These fillings are high-density so further add to the firmer feel of this mattress.

This is a quilted mattress, a smooth-surfaced mattress that is finished in a very tactile stretch-knit material that is silky-smooth and very durable. There are handles on the sides of the mattress to aid movement when required, and as a turnable mattress, you should be aiming to turn and rotate the mattress seasonally, alternating between the two. We would also recommend that this process is done weekly in the first month after delivery to aid even settlement.
